The Haegeumgang Theme Museum in Geoje, South Korea, is proud to announce the 10th edition of the Geoje International Art Festival, a landmark event that has grown into a beacon of cultural exchange and artistic innovation. Taking place from September 1st to October 25th, 2024, this festival marks a decade of commitment to fostering creativity, connecting artists from around the globe, and celebrating the universal language of art.

This year’s festival is especially significant, celebrating its 10th anniversary with a theme that resonates deeply: “Language of Coexistence, Art,” with a sub-topic that reflects the festival’s ongoing mission, “The Climax of Art is Not a Destination but a Journey.” This theme invites artists and viewers alike to explore the evolving narrative of art, emphasizing that artistic expression is an ever-unfolding journey rather than a static endpoint.

Thanks to the visionary leadership of Museum Directors Cheon Eob YU of the Haegeumgang Theme Museum and Kyung Myung JA of the Yukyung Art Museum, the festival has attracted more than 300 international artists, showcasing a diverse array of talents across the visual arts. This includes painting, sculpture, installation, photography, digital art, and video, offering visitors a truly immersive experience.

A key highlight of this year’s festival is the Excellence Awards, with 25 to 30 prestigious accolades being bestowed upon the most outstanding contributions, predominantly in the painting category. These awards are a testament to the high caliber of work presented, and they underscore the festival’s role in recognizing and nurturing global talent.

The festival is further distinguished by the participation of an esteemed panel of judges, including Chris Bleicher from Germany: She invited in her judges artists group 25 professional artists from 14 countries:

  • Ambreen Anjum, Pakistan
  • Arnaud Dromigny, France
  • Azneeta Ysf, Singapore

Chris Bleicher will also present her monumental sculpture, “The Big Smile,” a Giant Jaguar figure standing approximately 3.20 meters tall, embodying the vibrant spirit and joy that the festival seeks to inspire.

The 10th Geoje International Art Festival is more than just an exhibition — it’s a celebration of the shared human experience through art, a platform for dialogue and understanding, and a testament to the ongoing journey of artistic exploration. This anniversary edition promises to be a defining moment in the festival’s history, honoring the past decade while looking forward to the limitless possibilities ahead.

Join us in Geoje this autumn for an unforgettable celebration of art, culture, and creativity, and witness how art can bridge divides and foster a world of mutual respect and understanding.
