Marketing Magic: Interview with Alice O’Mahoney
Alice O’Mahoney is a highly decorated marketing strategist who has experience managing multimillion dollar product launches for high profile companies and organizations such as Lucent Technologies and Siemens. Alice is at the helm of ALO Marketing Services where she partners with business owners to target audiences, develop content strategies, and secure ideal client relationships with the aim of developing long term business relationships and growth.
Alice recently discussed her career via an exclusive interview.
Meagan Meehan (MM): How did you get interested in marketing and how did you break into the field?
Alice O’Mahoney (AO): My first marketing job was for an Ethernet networking manufacturer. I designed their packaging for their retail channel. I found it intriguing to implement packaging design to catch a consumer’s eye and stand out from the competition.
MM: How did you learn the ropes of getting products and services recognized by the public?
AO: I have been fortunate to have marketing roles with organizations that manufactured their products on-site. This ensured the customers’ needs were implemented in every stage of the product life from manufacturing to the public launch. It was a great feeling of accomplishment to witness the public’s excitement when the product was released.
MM: What services do clients typically need most?
AO: It is important that all clients start with a clear detailed target audience definition. From there, the priority needs to be how to get your product/service in front of the right people. Resonate to Revenue panel discussions focus on these important areas — utilizing the unique power of each marketing channel to promote your expertise and to serve as a key resource for your ideal clients.
MM: How did you get established with ALO Marketing Services?
AO: In my last marketing role with a prominent real estate company, it was very apparent how business owners become quickly overwhelmed with marketing their expertise. Whether the challenge stemmed from learning new technology or finding the time, business owners would begin to lose their passion. Witnessing this challenge gave me the motivation to start my own business, ALO Marketing Services and provide my marketing expertise to business owners so they can focus on their expertise and passion.
MM: What sorts of clients, products, and services do you most gravitate towards?
AO: I have been fortunate to have wonderful success with the real estate, home improvement and family law professions. I tend to gravitate towards companies whose product/service endure a longer decision-making cycle. I enjoy putting my energy and knowledge to execute targeted consistent marketing to contribute to long term business growth.
MM: What were some of the coolest projects you have been involved with?
AO: I always find it rewarding to voluntarily oversee the marketing of pet rescue events. It brings me true happiness to see an animal, whether it be a dog or cat to find their forever home.
MM: Are you currently working on any new programs or initiatives that you’re especially excited about?
AO: I am a proud member of the “Resonate to Revenue” Panel. It is exciting to collaborate with fellow experts to develop panel discussions that can help business owners excel in their industry.
The “Resonate to Revenue” panel recognizes the challenge of businesses. We target the discussions to provide insights on how to market your expertise to build your ideal client base. Our next webinar is on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 4:30pm ET/1:30pm PT. Registration is complimentary and open to the public: Resonate to Revenue: Grow Your Ideal Client Base With Targeted Content Tickets, Thu, Jan 28, 2021 at 4:30 PM | Eventbrite
MM: What are your ultimate goals for the future and is there anything else that you would like to mention?
AO: My ultimate goal is to focus my expertise on helping companies struggling to define their ideal target audience. A clear and well-defined target audience is the foundation of every successful marketing strategy. Once you know who you are best serving, the rest of the marketing and sales pieces should fall into place.
