Skechers Announces James Goldcrown Collection
Skechers, one of the world’s most iconic shoe brands, has just announced a global partnership with regaled artist and fashion photographer James Goldcrown; the collection is called Skechers x JGoldcrown.
Each pair of footwear in this collection features the famed artist’s iconic hearts designs (which adorn murals all over the world), hence it is befitting that it launched around Valentine’s Day 2021. The shoes are designed to be affordable — $32 to $85–and aim to delight the stylish women and girls who wear them. This collection also includes an array of designs and styles such as Skechers Uno fashion sneakers, 90s retro Skechers Roadies sneakers, and BOBS from Skechers canvas slip-ons and sandals.
Hailing from West London, James Goldcrown found his footing as a self-taught muralist. At age 17, he began his work with fashion photography. In his 20s, he went to Africa where he dived into documentary filmmaking and earned acclaim for his work about the AIDS epidemic via his film “To Die No More.” The movie won awards and raised over £10,000 which was donated to the people who were suffering from AIDS and appeared in the film. His mural, Love Wall, premiered at Miami Basel in 2015 to instant acclaim and his Instagrammable murals have achieved over 50,000 shared via #Lovewall public hashtags. James Goldcrown frequently works with brands restaurants, beauty brands, and fashion houses yet the Skechers x JGoldcrown is a true milestone in his career.
